Coffee Break!

Ten minutes, that’s all I’ve got.
I rush to my favorite spot.
A wooden bench, in sunlight it glistens.
The wind is a song.  Eyes closed.  I listen.
Birds call.  Squirrels scurry.
Heart slows.  No need to hurry.
My head is light.  My shoulders release.
Back to my desk.  Just needed some peace.

very good, unfortunately where I am pigeons and squirrels may attack if I close my eyes 😉

Park benches are usually quite unconfortable. I suppose they were not designed with any degree of comfort in mind.

I totally can relate to this. Both the coffee and the few minutes away from work, to maintain my sanity throughout the day. Great poem.
